Introduction

Production processes should operate as uninterruptedly as possible for a long period of time. This places exceptionally high demands on the construction and lining materials used. In some cases, extreme flexibility in assembly technology and rapid material availability are also required. It should also be possible for the material to be installed on site by our own fitters.

Our HPC and UHPC materials have met these requirements for more than twenty-five years. We work intensively with the plant operator, production and local installation companies to ensure problem-free installation work.

Industry

WPE-DK High Performance Concrete (HPC) and Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) are high strength ductile material formed by combining cement, silica fume, high performance water thinner, water and steel or organic fibres. The material offers compressive strengths of 80 MPa to 300 MPa / 43500 psi and flexural strengths of up to 40 MPa / 5800 psi.

WPE-DK produces binder systems as grout binder, mortar binder and shotcrete binder. We produce all our binder systems as two-component systems.
For most WPE-DK HPC and UHPC concretes the mixing ratio is: 1 part binder : 1 part aggregate.

With fibre reinforced HPC and UHPC binder systems, very thin structures with high strength can be designed. This results in a significant weight saving of the material. The ductile behaviour of our HPC and UHPC systems is a first for concrete, with the ability to deform and take bending and tensile loads even after internal cracking.

PE-DK is the only manufacture of high temperature resistant UHPC HT binder systems worldwide. UHPC HT binder can be used at a maximum process temperature of 1.200°C /2192°F. UHPC HT material can be installed as:

  • Full lining: Layer thicknessess between 20 - 100 mm, depending on the application, are standard. A full lining requires a heat resistant anchoring system. A full lining has no thermal insulation effect.
  • Combination lining: In most cases UHPC HT is combined with a special, extremely thin but high effective insulation material.
  • Prefabricated elements lining: Finished elements can consist of solid UHPC HT material or a combination systom of UHPC HT and insulation.

When steel structures are exposed to extreme temperatures as a result of fire, they quickly lose their strength or load-bearing capacity and dangerous situations can arise. constructions made of high-temperature resistant UHPC HT lose little of their strength and thus maintain the load-bearing capacity of the construction even in the event of prolonged fires.

Another advantage of our HPC and UHPC concretes is the high density of the material, which makes it essentially impermeable to water and chlorides, giving the material exceptionally long durability and corrosion resistance. WPE-DK HPC and UHPC concretes can be used as a corrosion protection layer for existing concrete-steel or timber structures or as a load-bearing element for new structures on or in salt water.

UHPC wear protection systems are a combination of high strength UHPC binder system and ceramic aggregates. WPE-DK produces these wear protection systems in cast and mortar versions. UHPC wear protection mateerial can be installed in any required layer thickness. Overhead installation is possible without any problems. UHPC wear protection systems have been used worldwide for over 20 years.

The UHPC floor systems UHPC Phalt and UHPC TopLayer are extremely resistant to any mechanical loads and chemical attacks in all temperature ranges. UHPC Phalt a combination system of UHPC mortar and asphalt is the natural choice to overcome challenges such as high point loads, rutting due to constant driving on the same stretches, as it combines the flexible and jointless asphalt with the excellent load bearing capacity and high wear resistance of UHPC mortar.

HPC and UHPC fibre reinforced injections products for the offshore industry are pumpable and designed for offshore applications and are often used in connection with the structural reinforcement of offshore platforms.

UHPC grouting concrete is suitable for grouting above as well as under water. Due to the viscous consistency of the mixed material

UHPC grouting concrete is used in all offshore windmill foundation techniques.
